With an MBA from Oxford University, Marcos is a Chemical Engineer and dedicated senior leader with a long career in the oil refining and petrochemical industries. Working in both South America and Europe, Marcos has held a variety of senior roles within Manufacturing, Projects and Technology and is passionate about the continuous improvement of the downstream energy industry. Marcos has a deep understanding of oil refining operations, technologies, economics and project development acquired throughout his career. Currently, he is responsible for Essar’s decarbonisation strategy in the UK where he is developing and implementing low carbon transition projects to achieve the company’s vision. Marcos is also chairman of the Hydrogen Advocacy Committee (HAC) within the UK Petroleum Industry Association which aims to ensure the transformation of the Oil Downstream Sector as a key enabler to deliver a Net Zero United Kingdom.
